Jen Kasten was already planning weddings in Mexico's top destinations, but she decided to create My Event when she got engaged to the love of her life and moved to the US. She identified a niche in the US wedding industry that was not properly covered: America needed someone that understood Mexico, knew everything about weddings but also understood American brides/grooms and was locally based in the US.
The circle was completed after Jen got married herself in Mexico, and My Event by Jen Kasten was born! Now, she also understands what being a bride is all about, including all the aspects of planning a destination wedding.

Planning a destination wedding in a foreign country is challenging, but with the right help and direction it could become the most trilling adventure.
My Event understands the American mind set and is able to communicate with the Mexican suppliers creating a perfect bridge of communication. Americans expect fast, prompt and efficient results, while Mexicans work with love and passion and integrity. My Event will bridge the GAP between the two cultures and will set proper expectations while working behind the scenes to deliver faster and better results.
Face to face meetings will help you create a bond with your planner. We will understand you, your needs, style, passion and will help you create a custom design and ambiance for your wedding.
Part of our typical planning process includes setting up a 100% personalized site inspection itinerary for our brides and grooms interested in viewing/vetting their wedding venue(s)/hotel and other suppliers in person. We arrange appointments, tastings, down-time, all with your needs and specifications in mind.
For the week(end) of your wedding, we can fly to the destination to coordinate your wedding first hand, when requested.

One of the biggest challenges in the industry is the staff rotation.
At many hotels, rarely the sales person is the coordinator or executor of your wedding. You pick your wedding from menu of packages and then wait until your arrival months later.
The wedding industry is one of the most sought out employment areas and personnel rotate constantly through different hotels, job opportunities and better offers. Many couples that choose a hotel provided planner only learn within days/weeks before their wedding that their initial planner is no longer with the hotel, and that they have a new planner.
By choosing My Event, we eliminate this potential miscommunication. With us, if your main contact at the hotel, venue, etc. changes, you have your planner that will make sure that all planning and work invested is communicated and perfectly passed along to ensure a flawless wedding.

We understand the industry and the destinations like no other. Our President, Jen Kasten, has 10+ years of experience but also walked this path herself, giving her (and you) invaluable perspective and understanding of what every couple goes through.
Not all wedding planners are native to Mexico, understand the culture, have had a destination wedding in Mexico themselves, and have also lived in the US.
We understand how Mexico works and what American customers desire.
It is all about you. We will identify your planning style and adapt to your needs. Some brides are more hands-on, others want a smooth ride with as few decisions as possible. We will create a plan with you to deliver the help you need in the style you prefer.
