Get your Bride Body on. When should you start your diet?

Mike and I have been talking about starting our process to get in shape for our wedding and look fabulous in our big day. But to be honest, we also want to create a healthy life style that we can keep for the rest of our lives.

I am 31 and he is 33. Our bodies were very good to us for the first 30 years of our lives letting us drink and indulge in all our cravings. That time is for sure gone! It’s our chance to begin a healthier diet and take better care of our bodies.

My goal is to lose at least 20 pounds and tone my body with slim, long muscles. A healthy weight lose program recommends losing 6 pounds per month until your goal is reached. Exercise is a huge part of it too. The suggested amount of exercise for someone with little over weight is 45 minutes to an hour 3 times per week.

This is a very reachable goal. But to keep my mind in track I started a bet with one of my bridesmaids and a friend.  I am a challenge driven person and competing keeps me going! Our bet started this past Monday and our final results will be measured on August. If I lose around 6 pounds per month and I should be right there!

Each one of us chose a diet and exercise to follow. At the end we will compare results. I am following Jillian Michaels body revolution program combined with shaketology and low carb diet.

Mike will ride his bike to work (as soon as it stops raining) and start the program P90x + Shaketology.

This change is important not only to look our best for our wedding but also to prepare our bodies for the new stage that will be having children in a couple years.

Wish me luck! I will post updates monthly to pounder my progress.
